Some studies from last year, from photo references. These sort of studies allow me to switch off a little, the image having been 'solved' by the reference. It's a low stakes way to play around with colour, edges, brushes or other qualities I'm trying to work on at any given time. Though not necessarily the most cost-effective/scientific method, I find referencing portraits also has the added bonus of knowing if something is off since there's a lower margin of error for faces.
